The KSU Day of Service is designed as an opportunity to say thanks to our local community
that has supported the university in many important ways throughout its history. Volunteers
participate in a variety of projects that meet the specific needs of community organizations
throughout Cobb County and Metro Atlanta.
PLEASE NOTE: The Day of Service schedule and waiver information is listed below.

Day of Service Schedule
All volunteers will go directly to their selected volunteer site on April 9th. Volunteers will register online and select their service site. Each service site does have specific project times and transportation is not provided so chose carefully when selecting your site. Typically, volunteers will serve at their sites sometime between 9-1pm.

2022 Service Sites
ATLANTA GLOW - (SITE FULL)
Assist with office organization, assembling storage shelves and assembling period kitsBOOKS FOR AFRICA - 9-11am shift is full & 12-2pm is still open
At Books for Africa's warehouses, volunteers sort and pack books according to category and age level. No heavy lifting is involved.
CITY OF KENNESAW - (8:30-11:30)
Special Needs Rec Day
Serve as "buddies" to special needs adults for a sports activity day which could include a combination of basketball, pickleball, walking trackCOBB COUNTY WATER SYSTEM (9am-12pm)
Volunteers will assist participate in the Storm drain marking project. Location will be in Cobb County near KSU campusGOOD MEWS (SITE FULL)
Volunteers will be cleaning some of the cat trees and toys, spreading pine straw in the backyard, cleaning bird feeders, and sharing some love with the cats at the end of the volunteers session.GREEN MEADOWS PRESERVE PARK (9am - 12pm)
Park beautification and assistance in the Community Garden.KENNESAW MOUNTAIN TRAIL CLUB (9am - 12pm)
Volunteers will assist with trail maintenance, may include repairing bridges or trails from water damage, wear and tear, etc. Volunteers will be outside so dress accordingly with closed toed shoes.KSU FIELD STATION - (SITE FULL)
Volunteers will assist with a number of tasks at the KSU Field Station and Food Forest, including painting rock labels to id plants, weeding, mulching, and preparing plantings. The Field Station is located approximately 3 miles from the Kennesaw campus.KSU RESIDENCE LIFE - (9am - 12pm)
Volunteers will assist Residence Life with organizing storage areas by themes and eventsFIRST UNITED LUTHERAN CHURCH - (9am - 12pm)
Volunteer tasks will include maintenance of outdoor recreation areaFOSTER CARE SUPPORT FOUNDATION - (9am - 12pm)
Volunteers will sort clothing and toy donations to assist families that have foster childrenMARIETTA FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH - (9am - 12pm)
Park maintenance, spreading mulch and building birdhousesMCKENNA FARMS THERAPY SERVICES - (9am - 12pm)
Volunteers will help with horse care, barn work, landscaping and farm maintenance.MUST MINISTRIES (2 separate projects)
Donation Center 10am - Noon: (SITE FULL) Volunteers help sort clothes, food and other donated items and prepare them for redistribution to our clients ORMobile Pantry: (SITE FULL)
SIMPLE NEEDS - (SITE FULL)
Sorting and packaging of donated goods for families coming out of homelessnessSMITH GILBERT GARDENS - (9am - 12pm)
Volunteers will assist with annual Bonsai SaleTREES ATLANTA - (9am-12pm) Metro Atlanta location
Planting and maintaining trees in the metro Atlanta area -
Parking/TransportationThere is no transportation provided to the service sites. All volunteers are responsible for transporting themselves to and from their selected service site. Parking will be available at all individual service site locations.

Waiver
